About Cleopatra Loves Books

Guilty
Cleopatra Loves Books came to life in August 2013

For as long as I can remember I have loved reading. In the long ago days of the 1970’s my mother could leave me in the library while she shopped safe in the knowledge that I wouldn’t even miss her. I am passionate about children having a broad selection of books to choose from both at home and school.

So why the blog? Well…. I first started capturing all the book titles I’d read using Amazon’s Listmania as an aide-memoire, this progressed to reviewing those books I’d particularly enjoyed (or hated) and then I was invited to join Amazon Vine in 2011 which prompted authors and publishers to contact me for reviews so I decided to spread my wings and put all the information onto this blog.

If you wish to do so you can email me at cleopatralovesbooks70@gmail.com

I love reviewing it is my way of offering my opinion on books I have read. I want others to have that magical feeling when they find a book they will love as I know how much other people’s reviews help me to find great books to enjoy and the book blogging community is fantastic so here are some of my forays onto other blogs…

  1. What a colorful and interesting blog. Love the story about being left in the library as a “babysitter.” Thanks for visiting my review blog, FrayedDustjackets.

  5. I indirectly found your blog. I too blog reviews of what I read, so I am always interested in others that do the same. I mostly review fiction. Just reviewed Danielle Evans’ short story collection “Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self”, and will soon review Neil Gaiman’s novel “The Ocean at the End of the Lane”, and Anne Enright’s short story collection “Yesterday’s Weather”. I have started her Booker finalist novel “The Gathering” and a new favorite author, Carlos Fuentes’ novel “The Years With Laura Diaz”. Will look for one of the long listed 2014 Bailey’s Women’s Fiction and perhaps a suggestion from your list. Interested that you had been reading fiction of “new” writers. I tend not to read mysteries, definitely don’t read romance, and may occasionally read crime fiction and science fiction.Love to read good new writers, but not being the fastest reader I can’t imagine keeping of with the volume. Nice to have found your blog.

    1. Thank you very much for your comments. The Baileys Women’s fiction longlist has one book on it which I was planning to read, Burial Rites. but I don’t have any of the others. I must admit I do enjoy good crime fiction and this year has seen some great debuts, Sarah Hilary’s Someone Else’s Skin being just one of these, I also love historical fiction and Wake by Anna Hope which records 5 days following World War I was a stunning read. I’m not into ‘romance’ per se although I do enjoy contemporary fiction. Please give me the link to your blog so I can read your reviews too.

  9. Hi
Could I send you my debut book for review?

It is the first part of a thrilling series, with 60 chapters each set in real time taking the reader 1 minute to read (hence Sixty Minute Reads series)

It is available on Kindle Unlimited or paperback here, but I am able to email you a PDF version if you’d prefer?
    ATOMIC NUMBER SIXTY: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JAA81A6

    Thank you for your time
