My current read is Cold, Cold Heart by Christine Poulson which was published on 17 November 2017 and features to my delight a Patent Attorney.

The last book I finished was His Kidnapper’s Shoes, a psychological thriller by Maggie James that had been lingering on my TBR for quite a while.

Next I plan to read Room by Emma Donoghue which I purchased all the way back in August 2012 and still haven’t read. This one is for my most certainly failed Mount TBR Challenge 2017.

Cleopatra Loves Books 
Oh, I love the look and sound of His Kidnapper’s Shoes. I have had Room since 2014…and recently tried to read it. I didn’t like the child’s narrative, in his unique language. I might return to it later…but I’d have to be in the right mood for it.

What an intriguing cover (and synopsis) for His Kidnapper’s Shoes… I’m now adding it to my TBR list!
I read and really enjoyed Room – far preferred it to the film version that I saw after (of course!). The book is a great read so I hope you enjoy it.

I loved Room, it’s one of the earliest books I read when I started to become a real bookworm. I liked the movie too but the book is still the best :-). Happy reading !

I loved Room, though I think it’s one of those marmite books as I know others who couldn’t get away with it.

Ooh, I have Cold, Cold Heart to read as well because I really enjoyed the author’s story in the recent CWA Anthology. I’m sure I have Room on my wish-list somewhere. I did see the film which I liked but only the first half, didn’t find the second half as compelling. No idea if that would be the same for the book. I hope not, for your sake!

Cold, Cold Heart is definitely teetering on the edge of my TBR. Will you push it over? However, not even you will be able to talk me into Room… an entire book told through the eyes of a five-year-old… *shudders* 😉

I have your first two books. Just came across Room today and it’s got me curious. I’m reading Written In Blood by Layton Green. Just finished Spiral Of Hooves by Roland Clark. And plan to read Eleven Miles Of Night by Edward Trimnell next.

I read Room a few years ago, when it first came out in canada and loved it. I hope you do too. I watched the movie of it on a plane just last year, and cried in my seat! So embarrassing, but sign of a good story nonetheless.

I am in the minority in Room. I found it so disturbing that even now three or four years down the line I am still uneasy when I see the book!
