Lypsyy Lost & Found my Wednesday post gives you a taste of what I am reading this week. A similar meme is run by Taking on a World of Words
At the moment I am reading (ok well just about to start) The Trespasser by Tana French, the fifth in the Dublin Murder Squad series. This has to be one of my most highly anticipated reads of the year so I’m hoping for great things. The Trespasser will be published on 22 September 2016.
Blurb
Antoinette Conway, the tough, abrasive detective from The Secret Place, is still on the Murder squad, but only just. She’s partnered up with Stephen Moran now, and that’s going well – but the rest of her working life isn’t. Antoinette doesn’t play well with others, and there’s a vicious running campaign in the squad to get rid of her. She and Stephen pull a case that at first looks like a slam-dunk lovers’ tiff, but gradually they realise there’s more going on: someone on their own squad is trying to push them towards the obvious solution, away from nagging questions. They have to work out whether this is just an escalation in the drive to get rid of her – or whether there’s something deeper and darker going on. NetGalley
I have just finished the epic tale which follows Juliet Winterton in The Jeweller’s Wife by Judith Lennox
Blurb
1938. As England awaits the outbreak of war, Juliet Winterton journeys from the Mediterranean to the Essex countryside to begin her life as the beautiful young wife of a London jeweller.
But beneath her husband’s intelligence and ambition, lies a cruel and ruthless man. And when dashing politician Gillis Sinclair comes to stay at Marsh Court, Juliet is drawn to his irresistible charm.
So begins a passionate affair that will have consequences far beyond anything Juliet imagines. For Gillis Sinclair is hiding a dark secret and, as the next generation of Wintertons grows up, Juliet fears that they, too, will be tainted by the past… NetGalley
Next I am going to be reading The Murder at the Vicarage for the Agatha Christie Blogathon organised by Christina Wehner for 16 to 18 September 2016.
Blurb
’Anyone who murdered Colonel Protheroe,’ declared the parson, brandishing a carving knife above a joint of roast beef, ‘would be doing the world at large a service!’
It was a careless remark for a man of the cloth. And one which was to come back and haunt the clergyman just a few hours later. From seven potential murderers, Miss Marple must seek out the suspect who has both motive and opportunity. Amazon
Have you read any of these beauties? Do you want to?

Haven’t read any of them yet but I have one book by Tana French so I’m very interested in hearing more in the future about that one. I hear great things about this author if you like crime and mystery.

I really have enjoyed all the Tana French books, what I like most is they are all quite different to each other despite being a ‘series’

The Trespasser sounds like a great read, I’ve heard of Tana French before but never picked up any of her books. I’ve read a few Poirot books by Agatha Christie but never any Miss Marple, that one looks fun though!

Ooh have fun with the Agatha Christie blogathon! I have two of her books on my pile on my nightstand. I hope to get around to them over the next month or so, as I haven’t actually read anything by her.
Here’s my WWW Post for this week.

I am a huge fan of her Poirot books but never really took to Miss Marple – The Murder at the Vicarage is me working on that 😉

Confession time: I could not bring myself to finish Tana French’s Dublin Murder Squad’s #1. I wanted to love it, everyone whose taste in books I trust loved it as well… But I gave up after returning to the book three times. Do the series get ‘better’? Or could it be they’re not for me?

I’d say they perhaps aren’t for you – I’ve really enjoyed them all although they each have a very individual feel to them – but no book suits us all!

Just what I thought. It makes me sad though.

Oh, I hope you’ll like The Murder at the Vicarage, Cleo. It’s a really interesting look at Miss Marple’s character before she really evolved. And I want to read that Tana French – very much. I hope it lives up to expectations.

I’m giving Miss Marple a chance with this one Margot – I wasn’t a fan on my first read through which was more years ago than I’d like to admit and have avoided her ever since – I’ve decided to be a grown up and try again 😉 We’ll see how it goes!

I can’t wait to read the new Tana French. I love her books. And I also love Miss Marple. Have read all her adventures. I like this one a lot, though it isn’t on my favorites list. AC wrote a lot of books, so my ‘favorites’ are my most, most favorite. 🙂

Oh Kay I struggled with Miss Marple when I first met her years ago and haven’t revisited her since (not even on TV) so hopefully she’ll be more to my taste now!

I’ve got Tana French’s The Trespasser lined up to read soon too so can’t wait to see what you think. Unfortunately I realised after I got it that I haven’t read the previous book yet and it sounds like there might be more overlap in terms of characters than is normal in this one.

I didn’t know the Tara French was that much anticipated. I liked the blurb though but couldn’t get my request approved on NetGalley. I will wait to read your review you then see if I will buy the book. Enjoy your books this week.

I have the first Tana French book, and planned to read all the books in order….but I am growing impatient with myself. I haven’t even started reading Into the Woods. The Trespasser (and the other books I’ve noticed in the series) are making me want to hurry up and get there.
Thanks for sharing, and here’s MY WWW WEDNESDAY POST

I’ve heard great things about the Tana French books and they are on my list to try. I like the sound of this one, the way the mystery may be intertwined with the campaign to get rid of her. Sounds tense.
