Wow the end of August already and I’m ready for some autumn evenings reading, these differ to my summer evenings reading as they tend to have the addition of a blanket to keep me warm!!
At the moment I am reading A Man With One of Those Faces by Caimh McDonnell, a new writer of Irish crime fiction, in readiness for publication on 5 September 2016.

Next I am going to read The Ice Beneath Her by Camilla Grebe which will be published on 8 September 2016 by Bonnier Zaffre – it has been billed as ‘No ordinary psychological thriller’ so I’m eager to see what it has in store for me.

Funny how quickly the seasons seem to change these days as the nights are drawing in quite rapidly just now. I was surprised to see how dark it was by around 8pm last night! Hope you enjoy your autumnal reading. I’m going to try to hang on to summer for another week or two. 🙂

Echoing, Jacqui, here – and particularly as summer seemed to get off to such a slow start. I’m prolonging mine by taking off on holiday for a few weeks on Friday. Enjoy that cosy blanket!

Sounds like you are all set for the change in seasons. I refuse to accept that autumn is here (although I will be glad – and apprehensive – to see the children starting school).
I’ve had an ‘accident’ with my ereader. My tablet died, so I bought a new one which would replace both laptop and tablet (slightly bigger, with a keyboard), and of course I went for the cheapest but most versatile version. Sadly, it turns out it does not support Netgalley books, so I’ve just lost most of the books on my ereader that were not via Amazon.
So yes, my reading has gone all haywire at the moment…
However, I’ve just finished Mme du Chatelet’s book and a biography of her life together with Voltaire, which were both excellent, although they made me rather sad. I am currently reading David Peace’s ‘Tokyo Year Zero’, which is (as always with David Peace) brutally graphic and stylistically challenging, but rewarding in spite of all that. What I will pick up next is Jean Rhys’ unfinished memoirs ‘Smile Please’, for the Jean Rhys Reading Week. I do enjoy going to libraries and finding plenty of books in English, that makes for a nice change!

Oh no I’d be devastated to lose my NetGalley books – I’m trying to get back on track after all the wedding fun so the start of autumn is a benchmark for a more settled life with more time to read – before that I’ve got far too many social engagements with everyone else trying to enjoy the last weeks of summer 😉 Good to hear you’re enjoy the English libraries and I hope all goes well for the starting school business!

I like the sound of all of these but especially The Twins by Saskia Sarginson. I read one of her books last year (don’t ask me the name) and remember enjoying it.

Hopefully, autumn will spoil us with plenty of reading time comfortably sitting by the window with a fluffy blanket! The Ice Beneath Her will be on my list next week, I really love the cover. McDonnell’s sounds pretty good, too.
