My Husband’s Wife is my next read which I’ve heard lots about. Also hearing good things about Daisy in Chains, I’ve never read a Sharon Bolton so maybe I should add to the wish list.

Sharon Bolton is an excellent writer – Daisy in Chains is a standalone but she also has a series featuring a police officer Lacey Flint which is very good (she has some other standalones too)

I’ve just finished reading Loving Le Corbusier which is about Yvonne Gallis, the architect Le Corbusier’s wife. For research I’m reading Adam Hochschild’s Spain in our Hearts about American involvement in the Spanish Civil War and for fun I’m reading Inceptio by Alison Morton – it’s a thriller set in … well the premise is that the Roman Empire didn’t fall and that there’s a country in Europe called Roma Nova which has survived and the society is a matriarchy (I might have that last bit wrong) Alternate history I think is the correct description … It’s not the usual thing I read but I’m thoroughly enjoying it.

What a fascinating mix of books – I don’t think I’ve read any ‘alternate history’ but Inceptio sounds intriguing for sure. Good to hear you are enjoying it and I do hope the research is coming along well.

I’ve started to see My Husband’s Wife popping up all over the place, but I think Die of Shame sounds more intriguing. I hope you enjoy it!

Ooh, I love the sound of Die of Shame! I’ve read a couple of less-than-thrilling thrillers this week, so maybe that’s one I should pick up, or at least keep an eye on.

I just finished reading “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings”, an autobiography by the late Maya Angelou, and also “So Much Synth”, a poetry collection by Brenda Shaughnessy. Brenda is my fav! “Daisy in Chains” vaguely reminds me of a book I noticed on Fantastic Fiction a while ago: I think it was called “Black-Eyed Susans”. Yup, I just looked it up. It’s by Julia Heaberlin. Just judging by these other choices, I think it would be another book you’d enjoy.

I really liked Daisy in Chains! The one from Mark Billingham sounds interesting but I’ve read one of his books (Bloodline) and it just wasn’t it for me so I don’t really know yet.

I’ve been wanting to read Die Of Shame since Jo @ mychestnutreadingtree.wordpress.com reviewed it. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about it. I’ve seen Daisy In Chains pop up on some blogs but I’m not sure I’d enjoy it. My husband’s wife, on the other hand, is a book I am really excited about.
