Teaser Tuesday (November 11)

Kindle,jpg

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teaser this week is from Dying for Christmas by Tammy Cohen

Dying for Christmas

Blurb

I am missing. Held captive by a blue-eyed stranger. To mark the twelve days of Christmas, he gives me a gift every day, each more horrible than the last. The twelfth day is getting closer. After that, there’ll be no more Christmas cheer for me. No mince pies, no carols. No way out …
But I have a secret. No-one has guessed it. Will you? NetGalley

My Teaser
‘Ah yes. In case they’ve replied to that text you sent them.’
I looked at him then. Just the most fleeting of glances. Enough to see the smile on his lips. Enough to know he knew there was no one looking for me.

What do you think? Would you like to know what happened next?

Please leave the link to your teasers in the comments box below.

  1. Cleo – This certainly sounds like a suspenseful story. I’ll be interested in what you think of it when you’ve finished it.

  2. Sounds like jolly Christmas fun! I was ready to skip it based on the FPPT in the blurb, but I see the teaser isn’t. I’ve now requested it from NG, so we’ll see… I note the cover on NG mentions the horrendous double-four-letter-word – Gone Girl…grrr!

  3. A christmas murder mystery! Well you don’t see that every day 🙂 Sounds compelling. I must say I don’t often read murder mysteries. Should give them a go 🙂 Hope you enjoy reading.

  4. Sounds like some sadistic, psychological torture in this book.
Mine is, “The next set of doors on the left, judging by the bracing whiff of formalin, belonged to the morgue. I gave a little shiver as I passed: not one of fear, but rather of delight.” Loc 3763, 71%
