Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
My teaser this week is from The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion which is the sequel to the fabulous The Rosie Project
Blurb
With the Wife Project complete, Don settles into a new job and married life in New York. But it’s not long before certain events are taken out of his control and it’s time to embark on a new project . . .
As Don tries to get to grips with the requirements of starting a family, his unusual research style gets him into trouble. To make matters worse, Don has invited his closest friend to stay with them, but Gene is not exactly the best model for marital happiness. As Don’s life with Rosie continues to be unpredictable, he needs to remember that emotional support is just as important as practical expertise. NetGalley
My Teaser
It was 9.27 p.m. when I arrived home from Dave’s. Rosie flung her arms around me and began crying. I had learned that it was better not to attempt to interpret such behaviour at the time, or to seek clarification as to the specific emotion being expressed, even though such information would have been useful in formulating a response. Instead, I adopted the tactic recommended by Claudia and assumed the persona of Gregory Peck’s character in The Big Country.
Please leave the link to your teaser in the comment box below.
I so want to read this book, but I need to read The Rosie Project first.
Love the teaser you’ve chosen. Now I want to know what Gregory Peck was like in Big Country.

The Rosie Project was one of the few humorous reads I’ve really enjoyed so I couldn’t miss out on the sequel. I’m not a big film fan so haven’t seen the clip either 😉

That sentence certainly did tease since now I have to go and look up Gregory Peck in that film.. I never read the Rosie Project but bought it for my mum who loved it. Does the Rosie Effect live up to that – if so, that’s a birthday present dilemma solved 🙂

The Rosie Project was a spectacular read, I haven’t finished this one yet so I can’t comment yet! I haven’t seen the film either but with other references in the book I can work out what went on 😉

I just received an ARC of this book yesterday and am really excited to start it–I just need to finish some library books first. (Those pesky due dates are do annoying!)

My name is in a book! I curious about this Claudia and her character, but still, the scene you’ve shared appears to be unbalanced and deranged! Although, sometimes, I do catch myself taking on some of the characters I ‘ve met in stories ha ha! 😀

I read The Rosie Project as my first book of this year, so I have added this one to my list! From the excerpt, it sounds like Don is just as clueless as ever! LOL Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
