My Teaser this week is from The Murder Bag by Tony Parsons
Blurb
Twenty years ago seven rich, privileged students became friends at their exclusive private school, Potter’s Field. Now they have started dying in the most violent way imaginable.
Detective Max Wolfe has recently arrived in the Homicide division of London’s West End Central, 27 Savile Row.
Soon he is following the bloody trail from the backstreets and bright lights of the city, to the darkest corners of the internet and all the way to the corridors of power.
As the bodies pile up, Max finds the killer’s reach getting closer to everything – and everyone – he loves.
Soon he is fighting not only for justice, but for his own life ..Goodreads
My Teaser
We slipped into our breakfast routine. Toast for Scout. Porridge for me. Nature’s Menu dog food for Stan. After carrying her plate to the sink, Scout went off to brush her teeth. That had been one of her mother’s rules – teeth are brushed after the meal, not before, and we really did our best to stick to her rules.
Please leave your links to your teaser in the comment box below.
Teeth are brushed both times! But good teaser from what seems to be a thrilling novel. I wonder how many are killed before the case is solved!

Cleo – I do like mysteries where past events are the key to present ones. You picked an enticing couple of lines too. I’ll be interested in knowing what you think of it.

I was keen to see whether he could make the transition from ‘lad-lit’ to crime fiction. I’m not very far through but so far I’m enjoying it.

Hi Cleo,
This book is already on my TBR list, as it is such a far cry from the author’s usual style of writing and choice of storyline, that I am intrigued to see if he manages to pull it off successfully.
I like the way that he brings the story right up to date, by including the internet as a link in his trail of killing, although there are traces of the ‘old’ Tony Parsons in your teaser lines, where descriptive writing brings an event to life on the page.
Thanks for sharing,
Yvonne

I read Man and Boy years ago but nothing else from this author since. I wanted to see how his writing adapted to this very different genre and it is incredibly ‘readable’ The fact that he was a journalist working with the vice squad helps the feeling of authenticity too.. As you say the realism is enhanced by the eye for detail, particularly in the domestic scene I chose which conjures up so much in a few lines. I hope you enjoy it too when you get around to it.
