Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser this week comes from The Toy Taker by Luke Delaney (The DI Corrigan Series) and if there was ever a cover to give you nightmares this could be it!
Blurb
Your child has been taken…
Snatched in the dead of night from the safety of the family home. There’s no sign of forced entry, no one heard or saw a thing.
DI Sean Corrigan investigates.
He needs to find four-year-old George Bridgeman before abduction becomes murder. But his ability to see into dark minds, to think like those he hunts, has deserted him – just when he needs it most.
Another child vanishes.
What kind of monster is Corrigan hunting? And will he work it out in time to save the children? Goodreads
My Teaser
‘What?’ Sean almost shouted, drawing concerned looks from the detectives eavesdropping in the main office.’Where to?’
‘Where else? The Yard, of course’
‘Scotland Yard?’ Sean asked, incredulous.
I love seeing what everyone else is reading so please leave your links so I can return the visit – thank you!
I’ve not read Luke Delaney yet but he’s on my radar!

I don’t usually read crime novels, but the teaser made me smile, so I might give this one a shot, even though as you said, the cover is likely to give me nightmares. I’ll blame you for my upcoming sleepless nights 😉
Here is mine this week.

So scary! It must be the worst for parents… unless it’s (sinister) them that’s at fault.

What an amazingly creepy cover! I am reading The Ice Princess by Camilla Lackberg and here’s a teaser…..
‘He had touched her stiff, frozen limbs and felt the soul that was still thrashing inside its frozen prison. Never had he loved her as much as he did then’

Fantastic choice, you can see one of Camilla Lackberg’s later books The Drowning on my bookshelf header 🙂 I do like this series and have my eye on the latest one out later this year 🙂

I noticed it was a series, is it always Erica and Patrick? I must check if I have any more of hers in the 746 as I’m really enjoying it. It’s quite nice to have a ‘civilian’ investigating for a change!

Erica plays a part in them all in varying degrees. I’m adding my link to the last one I reviewed as it has the books in order (you did well to start with the first one!) https://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2013/10/30/the-lost-boy-camilla-lackberg/
