Tuesday Teaser (January 14)

Teasing Tuesday CB
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teaser this week is from Mother, Mother by Koren Zailckas

Meet the Hurst Family.
Meet Violet Hurst -16 years old, beautiful and brilliant. So why is she being accused of being a danger to herself and others?
Meet her brother Will Hurst – the smartest and sweetest twelve-year old boy around. But does he really need all that medication he is being told to take?
Meet oldest sister Rose – the one who got away. She disappeared one night in her final year of school, never to be heard from again.Amazon

“I feel like you’re asking me to choose between my children,” Josephine told the mystery caller. “I love my daughter more than words can express but I’m terrified of her. She critically injured my son. Uh-huh. Yes I’m afraid for our lives.”

Told from the viewpoints of Violet and Will I’ve not read very much of this book but so far so good…..

  1. Hi Cleo,

Wow! This sounds like it could be a deeply powerful and emotionally challenging book (Sorry, I just had to cheat and check out the full blurb on Goodreads, as I was so intrigued) and I hope that it lives up to expectations.

The reviews so far have been excellent and those teaser lines only serve to add to the intrigue about the potential end-game.

I hope that you continue to enjoy the book and have a great week.

  2. Hi Yvonne, That’s not cheating at all! I am thrilled that my post intrigued you enough that you wanted to find out more! I have my fingers crossed that this will continue to be a good read, I certainly turned more pages than my poor tired eyes wanted me to last night! Thank you.

  3. Hmmm, this sounds really interesting. Makes you wonder which one is the dangerous one – the daughter or the mother. Might have to add this to my TBR. 🙂

    Happy Reading!
