Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser this week is from Watching Over You by Mel Sherratt
Blurb
Following the death of her husband and unborn child, Charley Belington sells the family home and bravely starts life over again. On moving into a new flat, she is befriended by her landlady, Ella, who seems like the perfect friend and confidante.
But, unbeknown to Charley, Ella is fighting her own dark and dirty demons as the fallout from a horrific childhood sends her spiralling down into madness—and unspeakable obsessions.
As Ella’s mind splinters, her increasingly bizarre attentions make Charley uneasy. But with every step Charley tries to take to distance herself, Ella moves in a tightening lockstep with her, closer and closer and closer…
My Teaser
“I’m digging a hole for myself, aren’t I? I’m noisy and nosey and everything you don’t want in a neighbour.”
She passed the photograph to Ella. “This was my husband, Dan. He was killed, just over eighteen months ago now.”
I’m not very far into this book yet but it is shaping up to be a good read!
Could be interesting 🙂

Well Ella appears to be a bit of a nymphomaniac so could be described as interesting 😉

Yikes. Something else you don’t want in a neighbour. I had that in a neighbour once when I was married. The problem was she was good looking, and I was married. And when I am with someone, it doesn’t matter what someone else tries to do to come onto me, I will reject them

The whole neighbourhood seems to be watching each other and Ella is providing the entertainment – glad I live somewhere else. Not good about your former neighbour and very good to know you are a ‘decent man’ 🙂

Well, I wouldn’t say decent, I was faithful. If I was decent, I would still be married lol

There are various shades of ‘decent’ and being faithful is a big part of that 😉

Sounds creepy and from the cover Ella (if that’s her) looks like someone you don’t want to mess with!

Not someone you’d want to be living close to that’s for sure if things go as I suspect they might!

Love the cover. The tease is good to – not a neighbor you want close 🙂

Noisy and nosy are annoying in a neighbor but essential in a mystery thriller novel. We need someone as a catalyst!
